Naturally, keep an eye on the market as well; job offers from credible organizations allow you to verify whether your resume is up to date:
- What skills do companies look for in a senior consultant today?
- Web app or mobile?
- Native apps or cross-platform no-code?
- Which fields are the highest-paying?
- Remote work or in-office?
I was reading the open positions on the OpenAI portal, and this passage—listed among the requirements for a senior iOS developer role—really struck me:
Have a voracious and intrinsic desire to learn and fill in missing skills. An equally strong talent for sharing that information clearly and concisely with others
Are comfortable with ambiguity and rapidly changing conditions. You view changes as an opportunity to add structure and order when necessary
It is perfect, because as the old adage goes: "To know that you know what you know, and to know that you do not know what you do not know—that is true wisdom."
Growth
New requests come in every day, and sometimes you cannot handle them with your existing skills; you can then choose to step out of your comfort zone and put in the effort—studying and researching—to find solutions for those challenges as well.
It is with this philosophy that, for months, I have been taking a serious approach to the arrival of AI in various areas of daily life—technological or otherwise—and studying it, because understanding a subject is the only way to grasp its potential and value.
