I find this perspective very apt; perhaps that is why I often like to describe myself as my own phoenix. **Resilience** is a buzzword in these hectic times: just as you try to keep pace with a volume of content no human being could possibly absorb, global-scale events shift your reality, often leaving you unprepared to face it.
I have always loved taking on challenges that foster personal growth—foremost among them being the goal to be better today than I was yesterday and ready to do more tomorrow: discovering a new author who opens my mind or simply enjoying the experience of seeing myself reflected in their pages... finally deciding to try out a technology that seemed at odds with my work, only to discover its potential... and, why not? “Refreshing” my personal website, my company site, and even my LinkedIn profile or that rarely used PDF version.
It is a bit like putting a to-do list down on paper: it means retracing the years, the events, and—above all—the many people and places that have been part of your story.
It is an exercise we should all undertake—even just once a day: looking back to remind ourselves that who we are today is the result of a journey made up of choices, sacrifices, and everyday steps—far more than it might appear.
In 2014, I began collaborating on the Maverick Project—an initiative halted by the pandemic in 2020, leading its members to pursue different paths. In 2021, I took on the role of IT Manager at a local private care home, where I was able to apply my experience during a tenure that concluded last winter.
Spring 2023 saw the launch of my new company, Venezia.tech. Right now, the company is essentially just me, but a look at the website reveals my ambition to transform it into an innovative startup—the only type of business that truly reflects who I am and where I can make a real difference alongside new collaborators who are enthusiastic enough to believe in the vision.
That is also why I am preparing to welcome 2024 with renewed energy and curiosity—new projects, new experiences, and, after all, a leap year also means one extra day to live!
